Supporting residents with mental health and learning disabilities in the community of Essex

We recently completed the development of 13 self-contained supported living units in Essex for residents with learning disabilities and mental health needs. This flexible, future-proofed, and multi-generational facility also contains sleep-in accommodation for the residents’ carers.

In this new facility, people with a range of disabilities live alongside one another, sharing a communal lifestyle. Supported by their carers and companions, they’ll learn through the daily challenges of interdependence and develop their skills in ways that benefit both themselves and others.

A key feature of this service was to incorporate a communal hub both for residents and their families. This provides a dedicated space for activities, socialising and events, ensuring this project was more than just a home but a community.
